What Cookies & Similar Technologies Are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. “Similar technologies” include other forms of browser storage, such as local storage, which a website can use to remember information on your device between visits or pages. Together, these technologies can be used for essential functions, to remember your preferences, or to track activity for analytics or advertising.

This policy explains which of these technologies Illumetis — The Leadership Blind Spot Diagnostic (the “diagnostic”) uses, and why.

Our Use of Browser Storage

The diagnostic uses your browser’s local storage (“localStorage”) on your own device for strictly functional purposes. Specifically, we store:

your progress through the diagnostic, so you can leave and resume without starting over; and
the details you have entered (such as your name, email, and answers), so they are not lost before you submit.

This information is held locally on your device. It is functional, not tracking — it is not used to build a profile of you, to follow you across other websites, or for advertising. Clearing this storage (see below) will reset your progress in the diagnostic.

Third-Party Services

Google Fonts: the diagnostic loads fonts from Google Fonts to display its typography. This involves a request to Google’s servers to retrieve the font files. Google does not set advertising cookies through this method, but the request may be processed in accordance with Google’s own privacy practices.
IP-geolocation lookup: to derive your approximate location, the diagnostic uses our own server-side endpoint, which performs a lookup to a third-party IP-geolocation provider (currently ipapi.co). Because this lookup happens on our server rather than in your browser, it does not set any cookie or storage on your device.

We do not currently use any other third-party services that set cookies on your browser.

Managing or Clearing Your Storage

Because we use functional local storage rather than tracking cookies, you can manage it directly through your browser:

most browsers allow you to view and clear site storage and cookies through their settings or privacy menu; and
clearing the diagnostic’s local storage will remove any saved progress and details, and will reset the diagnostic the next time you visit.

You may also use your browser’s private or incognito mode, which typically clears local storage when the session ends.

Our Consent Approach

The browser storage we use is strictly necessary to provide the diagnostic you have requested, and on most legal interpretations does not require prior consent. Should we introduce analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies or technologies in future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires, request your consent before they are set.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in legal requirements. We will publish the updated version on this website and revise the effective date below.
