Who's behind this

I'm a non-executive director on ASX-listed boards, a leadership advisor, and the author of The Discipline Dividend.

Over three decades working with leaders, executives, and boards across Australia and globally, I've observed one pattern above all others: most organisations don't fail suddenly. They drift — quietly, gradually, and almost invisibly — until the gap between where they are and where they need to be becomes impossible to ignore.

The DDD Framework™ — Drift, Discipline, Dividend — is the diagnostic lens I've developed to help leaders see that drift clearly and act on it before it compounds. It's now woven through everything I do: the book, the learning programs, the advisory work, my Substack, and the Illumetis platform.

The research is clear

A landmark 2022 Gallup study found that 85% of employees worldwide are either not engaged or actively disengaged — a direct symptom of standards that have drifted and accountability that has softened. McKinsey consistently identifies unclear expectations and lack of follow-through as the top two destroyers of organisational performance. Drift isn't a soft problem; it's the most expensive problem most organisations are refusing to name.

I thought we had a performance problem. What the DDD Diagnostic showed me was that we actually had a drift problem — and once I could see it clearly, the path forward became obvious. Within three months, the team dynamic had shifted in a way that years of leadership training hadn't achieved before.
